    Shelly Gillett-Behrens is owner and voice teacher at G.B. Music Studio of Linden. She completed training in all three levels of Somatic Voicework - The LoVetri Method(TM) from Shenandoah Conservatory, and utilizes it’s practice for her students in both contemporary commercial music and classical music styles. She recently sang with several voice faculty in Flint Institute of Music’s production of “Gianni Schicchi”, and was the featured soprano soloist for Grand Blanc Arts Council’s Community “Messiah” in 2014 singing 5 selections. Shelly was also a soloist for the Saint-Saens “Christmas Oratorio” at Court Street United Methodist Church of Flint, Michigan Opera Theatre’s Community Programs Players, and for several area churches and choral groups. She was a member of the MOT chorus for productions of “La Boheme” and “Carmen”, as well as the Inaugural Gala of the New Detroit Opera House featuring Dame Joan Sutherland, Luciano Pavarotti, and Maestro Steven Mercurio. She also served as Assistant Director of Marketing for the opera company. Shelly appeared as soprano lead in Gilbert & Sullivan productions at Michigan State University and Virginia Tech. As musical director, she’s worked with Linden High School, Fenton Village Players, Lake Fenton High School, and Kidz Theatre Kompany. Shelly currently studies voice with Nada Radakovich (Flint Institute of Music), and previously with Jeanette Dagger (University of Windsor), Meredith Zara (MSU), David Itkin (Virginia Tech), and Laurie Frick (Birmingham Public Schools). She is a licensed Kindermusik educator and teaches classes in Fenton. Shelly is married to her lifelong love and they have two musical children.
