Want to sing higher, stronger, and more consistently? The first port of call is to “balance” your voice. In a nutshell, this means: getting your vocal muscles working well together; making sure your articulators aren’t choking you up; and then checking that you’re working with an easy, consistent flow of air. By working on these areas you will find your voice opens up and singing becomes easier and more joyful. It also means you can stretch your voice to extremes like belting, safe in the knowledge you have a healthy home-base to return to.
