Rachel Williams is a singer and private teacher in Chicago, Illinois. She is the lead singer of the original roots-based band, The Claudettes.
Rachel began studying Somatic Voicework™ in 2016 and gratefully credits the work with her ability to deliver free, emotionally dynamic performances with consistency in her regular tour schedule, as well as her ability to meet singers of various paths where they’re at. In 2021, Rachel partnered with Jeanie LoVetri and Associate Faculty member Maria Damore to create the presentation, “Vocal Crossover,” at The Voice Foundation Symposium, demonstrating the functional difference between classical head dominant singing, mix and belt.
Rachel holds a BMA in Vocal Performance and a BA in Theater from Wayland University and has been touring regionally and locally with bands of various genres for the past ten years. She runs a private studio in Chicago and online, where she works with professional and pre-professional adult singers of various genres. Find her at www.theclaudettes.com.
