April has proven to be a busy month for Jeanie. She just visited Boston and Providence, stopping by at Wheaton College in Massachusetts in between. Jeanie was the guest clinician for the Rhode Island NATS chapter, gave an open session at Berklee College of Music and worked with teachers of her method, Somatic Voicework™ at Roger Williams University.

Jeanie is excited about the opening of Anastasia on Broadway on April 24, with star Christy Altomare playing the lead role. Jeanie has been helping Christy with her vocal prep for the past few months. Music Director of the show, Tom Murray, will be joining Jeanie at Baldwin Wallace in July for master classes at The LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework™.
At the end of April, Jeanie will be going to the Baltimore/DC area to conduct a Teacher Training Day & Teacher Support Group for Somatic Voicework™ teachers who have done at least Level I. The Teacher Training Day will be on Saturday, April 29th and the Teacher Support Group is on Sunday, April 30. Those interested in attending should contact Jennifer Suess for details (additional details: click here). There will be a free introductory session for those who new to Somatic Voicework™ on Friday, April 28th. Please invite anyone who may be interested, and ask them to contact Jennifer Suess for details and registration.
In June, Jeanie will attend The Symposium: Care of the Professional Voice in Philadelphia sponsored by the Voice Foundation, an annual event in her life since 1978. She is on the Advisory Board, is a Presentation Coach, and is an adjudicator for the Best Student Research Award. She encourages all who are interested in the voice to attend.
Also, please be aware that the National Center for Voice and Speech holds its annual Summer Vocology Program every year. This excellent training, founded by Dr. Ingo Titze, is a great way to learn about all things “vocal”.

Registration is continuing to pour in for the summer LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework™ in residence at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. This program, the original training for CCM Vocal Pedagogy, attracts teachers and music educators from all over the USA and many foreign countries. If you are thinking of attending, please register soon, as space is rapidly filling up.
Our Jazz Master Teacher at the Institute this summer is the acclaimed Kate McGarry, who will be lecturing and teaching about vocal jazz. Jazz is an important style of CCM and is the basis for all others, except folk music. Jazz is something all singing teachers, SLPs, and MDs should know about, as it shows up everywhere.
Jeanie hopes that everyone had a wonderful World Voice Day this past April 16th. We hope that you celebrated the voice in your world in any way that seemed like fun and helped raise awareness. Please like our page on Facebook and share how you celebrated World Voice day with the hashtag #WorldVoiceDay! We would love to see pictures and videos.
A special notice to Jeanie’s Blog Book readers: due to some unexpected circumstances, we are asking you to resubmit the reports on Jeanie’s blog posts you have completed in the past. If you have saved them, please send them to the new Senior Editor of our Somatic Voicework™ website as soon as possible. Sr. Editor: Dr. Andrew White: whitear1@unk.edu A huge thank you in advance!
Wishing everyone a wonderful spring, look forward to seeing you this summer!
