I have taught voice, piano, and songwriting for 10+ years. I have training in classical, jazz and contemporary music and incorporate all into my teaching to ensure healthy vocal technique that aligns with the kind of singing each student wants to pursue. From complete beginners who claim they cannot hold a tune, to professionals looking for a tune up to keep their voice high functioning, I enjoy all aspects of teaching and helping people connect with their voice. I have a degree in music performance with a concentration in vocal jazz and African-American Music and have completed levels I, II, and III of Somatic Voicework – the Lovetri Method (TM). Most importantly, I’m a performing musician who has had to keep my voice in shape under many changing conditions over the years. I talk the talk in an easy and accessible way to help singers of all ages gain confidence and knowledge to pursue what I hope will be a life of song!
