Donna O'Connor piano,voice,guitar,ukeDonna brings 3 decades of performance to her already 13 years at Beach Music Studio.A notable live & studio singer in Toronto, she has opened for such artists as Burton Cummings, Three Dog Night, James Brown, Patti Labelle & Dionne Warwick .Donna began piano at the age of 4, and sang her first solo in her Kindergarten choir - leading the group to first place in the Kiwanis Music Festival. Through her teens piano, songwriting, & singing were her passion.Never slowing down... she auditioned and won roles singing/dancing/acting in ("Bye bye birdie"- Theatre Young Company, "West Side Story"-Ottawa Music Theatre, and "Anne of Green Gables" - Orpheus Society) to list a few.After a decade on the road with her own band "Hostage" she settled down in Toronto studying voice privately with Charles Jordan & Gloria Ferrer (acclaimed vocal coach and therapist) and continued her studies in piano, theory, Dalcroze with Donald Himes (Mr.Dressup , Dalcroze Diplome Superior)& saxophone with Jazz great- Pat Labarera. She has established a thriving singing and songwriting career here in Toronto "the city I Love " as well as arranging, session singing for songwriters such as Matthew Gerrard (hannah montana, High School Musical ) Kristi Magraw, & Kidslove2learn channel.Donna -has received full certification in 'Somatic Voicework' ™ Lovetri method at CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah University. -Foundation Level training in Dalcroze from the Dalcroze Society of Canada (at National Ballet School)-Grade 8 piano from Royal Conservatory of Music.membership intoronto musicians association (TMA), songwriters association of canada (SAC), dalcroze society of canada (DSC) , Contemporary Commerical Music Institute (CCM)Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM)
