Sally has been teaching voice for 20+ years. There is an eclectic mix of students ages 12-65. She works with beginners through professionals. Her students consistently receive the highest marks at regional and state competitions. In the past 2 years they have won competitions in Brighton, Michigan and made the finals of the Verdi Competition in Detroit, Michigan. They are also consistently accepted into the top classical, musical theater and jazz programs in the country. Sally’s students can be seen in leading rolls in musicals and operas throughout the area.

Sally Mikat studied vocal performance and pedagogy at Brigham Young University and the University of Michigan. She performed lead roles in the operas Falstaff, Beauty and the Beast, The Marriage of Figaro, and La Boheme, as well as musicals including Little Women, The Sound of Music, Hello, Dolly!, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, and Fiddler On the Roof. As a vocalist, she has been featured with the Toledo Opera, Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Southern California Mormon Choir; touring extensively in the United States and Europe with performances at the Hollywood Bowl, London’s Lincoln Cathedral, and the Kennedy Center. Sally works as an adjudicator for the Michigan School Vocal Music Association. She spends most of her time working in her private vocal studio and with her 5 amazing children. These are where her passions lie.
